Being physically active and maintaining an athletic shape has always been a part of my life. Building and maintaining a defined and toned physique requires dedication both to a exercise regimen as well as a healthy diet. Having been an athlete and dancer the majority of my life, I was dealt a major blow when knee issues prevented me from my traditional workout routine. I would go to the gym and go through the motions, often unenthusiastically. I found myself having to work harder to achieve the same results I had previously. I was incredibly cautious of leg machines and anything where my knee had the possibility of being overworked and/or swelling. I began to entertain the idea of a personal trainer. Given that I could no longer complete the type of exercises I had always loved and was extremely cautious, I knew my criteria for a trainer was very strict and finding someone who could fill those shoes was going to be difficult. I was both surprised and excited when I met James.
The first time I met him, I knew right off the bat that he was someone I could work with. James takes extreme pride in each client he trains. He is fully vested in his clients success and pushes dancers, runners, and weight lifters alike to levels they had thought were unattainable. His years of experience, vast knowledge, and ability to focus on even the smallest details enable him to personalize clients’ programs. James is able to balance the right amount of cardio, weight training, and new activities to meet the needs of each client. Knowing about my love for contact sports, James introduced me to boxing and I found a new exercise regimen that I thoroughly enjoyed. My workouts with James have allowed me to build strength in both my upper and lower body in ways I had not expected. He has been the only person I entrusted with in rebuilding my knee and I am incredibly happy to say that I am able to go through workouts without pain, a feat I had not been able to accomplish in over ten years. To see the transformation in terms of my knee is absolutely incredible and I owe it all to him. At the beginning of nearly every session, he would tell me about a new strength training exercise. Knowing that even outside of the gym he was focused on my rehabilitation further reaffirmed the fact that James is an exceptional trainer. I had always thought that I was strong, but with James’ personal workouts, I actually feel strong. My results are no longer good, they are great! Thank you James!!!

James helped transform my life in a short period of time. He designed a specific program tailored to my needs and goals. James is passionate about what he does, and it shows in what he accomplishes with his clients. Working with James was worth the time, sweat, and money. Whether we meet in person or through a phone call accountability session, I look forward to his encouragement. I have been around fitness my whole life. I never thought the day would come when I would need a trainer not only to get me back into the
gym but also to enjoy working out again – I had all but given up. After a two year long hiatus from any type of exercise and gaining 25lbs not only has James put me back on track but he has pushed me beyond what I thought my capabilities were at the time.
In two months I went from 145lbs to my old modeling weight of 120. I didn’t ever think I’d like my body in a bikini again, let alone model. But after James, I have the confidence and discipline now! Since I’ve been working out with him, I booked a modeling gig as a spokesmodel for Street Strider(an outdoor elliptical bike). James listens and then delivers without delay! I wanted “no nonsense” and believe me, that’s what I got! He is an amazing trainer, motivator and friend who has helped me more than words can describe. James will be the only trainer I ever have! I have had the pleasure of having James Leath as my personal trainer. We worked together for 8 months, and would have been much longer, if he did not move from Fresno. I really enjoyed working with James. He always mixed things up, and we hardly ever did the same things. It was really great, since it does not give your body a chance to get used to any of the exercises. I had also recently had shouldersurgery when we first started working together, James always found ways to work around my shoulder and came up with modified exercises that I was able to do. He was always supportive and would always ask about my goals. He wants his clients to succeed in whatever it is that they want to accomplish. Besides working out with him, he is also willing to work on eating plans and anything else a client is willing to try. If you are considering James Leath as your personal trainer, I would say don’t give it another thought. He is awesome.
